Summer travel forecast brightens for U.S. consumers

GasBuddy Blog -- TripAdvisor, which describes itself as "the world's largest travel site," announced this month that its annual travel survey indicates American consumer intent to travel is on the increase. 86 percent of respondents are planning leisure trips this summer, up from 81 percent who traveled last summer.

A separate survey showed that recently declining gas prices will not have an effect on leisure travel plans this summer, according to 86 percent of respondents, however 10 percent now expect to take more trips by car this summer because of the decline in retail gasoline.

Well travel by car makes sense. Airline travel doesn't unless time is critical.

Gas prices are still too high to travel, everyone. Please stay home this summer and save your money. Stay off the roads and the hell out of my way.

With the price of gas what it is, I doubt people will be going far.

Lower fuel prices, then more people can travel some way or another. Any kind of traveling for me will be camping gear loaded in a car rooftop clam shell carrier. A carefully planned route, with free campgrounds or waysides along the way and bringing most of the food and bottled water. Buy fuel at GasBuddy 'researched' gas stations and use the GasBuddy App to view prices along the way. So much for 'coming out of the closet' Barry's huge disastrous economic recovery, lack of adequate jobs and people will still vote for him!
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible!
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

People are often motivated to behave base on economics. Now there's an original concept. Of course sometimes other factors come into play.

All those people with no jobs will now take a long road trip vacation with the money they don't have I guess.

I went to Las Vegas last year, and going to Jamaica this year. The airports were crowded last year, and will probably be crowded this year...but if they are expecting an 81% increase it will be even more crowded.
